The Mandala – Inspired to Transform
Kyle Bowen
Cirello Gallery is pleased to announce our featured artist for the month of January, 2012. Kyle Bowen, will be showcasing his fine art Mandala paintings.
Join us for an opening reception with the
artist, in conjunction with Ray at Night, on Saturday, January 14th from 6 - 11pm.

10% of Kyle Bowen sales for the month of January at Cirello Gallery will be donated to ARTS.
Kyle Bowen was born in San Diego, CA. By the time he was
eleven, several of his watercolors had been published as greeting cards, gift bags and calendars. He
started painting mandalas when he was 19, after a traumatic brain injury. “After the accident my
perception of reality began to change dramatically and I became really paranoid and scared of
everything... that’s when I turned to drawing and painting as my form of art therapy.”
After painting the mandalas, Kyle’s self-destructive habits altered, transforming into spirituality and a
positive way of thinking. The power of the mandala is great and extremely healing – the
symmetrical harmony helped to align the four quadrants of his brain and to focus on
something that was complex, interesting and beautiful.

Acrylic on Acoustic Guitar
Bowen has painted over two hundred one-of-a-kind rock mandalas and recently he has
been painting mandalas on large canvases and on the face of an acoustic guitar. He has also
published a mandala coloring book.
In his spare time, Kyle volunteers with (A Reason to Survive) A.R.T.S; giving back to the
community is part of their Empowerment Student program.
Kyle is an alumni of The
Waldorf School of San Diego, The Charter School of San Diego, and The Abrams Art
Studio. All have been instrumental in his artistic growth. He also paints murals at
schools and helps teach an art class. |
