Cirello Gallery

reclaim your sacred existence

Inspired by sacred geometry, Cirello jewelry is handcrafted by San Diego artisans using reclaimed stainless steel and other materials native to the San Diego region. Cirello jewelry creatively captures and visually expresses the connections which life weaves through all conscious beings. In just a few short years, Cirello now manufactures and mass-produces original handmade jewelry pieces, including cuffbracelets, earrings, pendants and belt buckles. By using original castings and molds and advanced precision-cutting techniques, Cirello's jewelry retains the look and experience of handcrafted works of art.

Sacred Existence Collection

Cirello gallery began in 2006 in Balboa Park's Spanish Village, home to San Diego County's largest community of artisans. Here among over 200 independent local and international artists, ranging from sculptors to gourd artists, Cirello was introduced to the San Diego artist community. In 2009 Cirello gallery relocated to Ray Street in North Park, one of San Diego's oldest residential and commercial districts. Today Ray Street is considered to be the backbone of a burgeoning art and cultural community. Since opening a storefront on Ray Street, Cirello gallery has seen a significant increase in demand for their handcrafted stainless steel jewelry.

Cirello's location has positioned the gallery to host a variety of promotional events. including monthly gallery wine tasting, live music and entertainment events, and a monthly art walk on Ray Street called "Ray at Night," the largest and longest running art walk in the San Diego area. In addition to the local grassroots events in North Park, Cirello jewelry was well received at festivals including Wanderlust and Fruit of the Soul. The White Sage Cuff was recently featured in swag bags given to celebrities at the Versus Sports inaugural red carpet event "Kobe vs. Carmello". Given only in limited quantities, the White Sage Cuff was the most sought after item.

The future of Cirello gallery has just begun. What started as a solo enterprise by artist Matthew Cirello quickly turned into a partnership with long-time childhood friend and steel fabrication shop owner, Jonathan Wheeler. Multi-generational native San Diegans, Matthew and Jonathan are long-time childhood and family friends who grew up together in a local Boy Scout troop. It was there that Matthew and Jonathan would spend countless weekends outdoors, fostering and influencing their appreciation for the experience of nature and the elements.

As they grew, their interests seemingly diverged. While Matthew moved to northern California to study and obtain a degree in metalsmithing jewelry, Jonathan remained in San Diego to study design and manufacturing while working in his family's steel fabrication business. However, as time eventually would tell, these two friends found themselves with the combined skills, passion, and capabilities to offer unique and beautiful artisan jewelry design and manufacturing, fusing the services of both handcrafted and mass produced jewelry.

Today, Matthew and Jonathan offer a full list of services in jewelry design and manufacturing. They are not only able to produce Cirello's original jewelry creations quickly, but also create prototype pieces and designs for other custom jewelry designers and companies. Cirello therefore is able to provide a fast turnaround on custom orders, allowing retailer customers to stay current with trends, offer last minute promotion opportunities and small-scale releases of limited designs.
